I think you definitely could use sounds that are a bit more complex and have more depth to them. The bass sounds good but it is pretty simple and kinda lacking in lower frequencies. I would make either the bassline or bass drum have more of a kick to it in the 30-60hz range.
Also try layering and adding in some pads or something for more substance. reeverb works good for that too.
For layering, you could either layer different synths on one another or often i like to render one synth to a wav file (maybe the bassline?) and then bring two versions of it into your song and play them over each other but put different effects on each one
Also, use the shit outta parametric eq 2 especially for making your percussion sound better

Yeelp responds:

For my most recent song, I definitely used Parametric EQ 2 a lot. Back then, I didn't know how to use it. I haven't tried it on the drums before so I look forward to experimenting with that! I've used Reeverb 1 and 2 with successful results as well with the bass, synth, drums and stab of my new house song. I'm still sorta new to FL studio and I don't 100% know everything but I'm also very curious. I don't 100% understand what you mean by rendering one of them to a wav file, perhaps you could tell me a little more in depth in a PM possibly? Thanks!

the second drop is sweet, i love those high pitched slides. i feel like the beginning could use a little more variety tho, even like one or two subtle sounds added in the background. good mixing and mastering, nice bass

Thanks for the review!

cool sounds and nice happy/chill melodies, percussion was great too. nice work! could use a better outro tho, haha

sweet percussion, that white noise (or maybe just a muffled hat thing? lol) that comes in at 1:10 is pretty cool, i like how you panned it; loud on left, then softer on right

Digiguy responds:

Ha, that was originally another set of light drums, after converting the file it came out sounding like white noise. I think it's better now than originally because of that, lol. Thanks!

awesome melody, bass is sweet, and that buildup/transition....sick. that plucking synth that comes in around :33 sounds just a little out of place... but maybe thats just me. I think the snare could be a little bit more powerful as well

Hurks responds:

Thank you! It's still a work in progress, so those things can very well be arranged :3. I wish I could have made it longer, but I have the largest block ever for an intro right now.

i really like the vocal effects, synths sound awesome, great mixing/mastering too

i like your style, its pretty catchy. the synths/wobbles sound cool, did you make them with a vst or something?

awesome sounds, also the drop was really cool. how do you get that kind of effect on the bass?

alextheDJ responds:

Thanks! I'm assuming your talking about the second (dubstep) drop? I'm actually quite proud of that first bass. It's basically a custom made FM8 patch that's gliding down in pitch.

pretty cool

i like the fast beat, but i think that the bass from the beginning should come back after the quiet part though. Or just more bassline throughout the whole thing :P

cool

This sounds pretty awesome and kinda trippy lol
And it transitions from the first arp to the second one perfectly
overall awesome job :)

DevilBlackDragon responds:

Thanks :D
